Born in Gonzales in 1920 and raised in Dutchtown, Rose Fourrier Micaud moved to Baton Rouge, where she met her future husband Clay J. Fourrier. After attending business school, she was hired by the state of Louisiana and, along with General T. B. Herndon, ran the state of Louisiana’s aeronautics division from the 1940s through the 1960s. She was a licensed pilot and won numerous awards for her activities in state aviation, including being crowned a Queen of the Louisiana Flying Farmers. Preceded in death by her husband, Clay Fourrier Sr., her daughter Jennifer Chambers, and thirteen brothers and sisters. She is survived by one son, Clay Fourrier Jr., and a grandson, Robert Chambers. Visitation at Our Lady of Mercy Church on Thursday from 9 am to 10 am. Services at 10 am. Interment at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Brusly.
