The visitation will be Monday, March 13th, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM with a service following immediately after. Chris passed away March 8, 2017 at his home in Baton Rouge from an unexpected gastrointestinal bleed. Chris was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence John Dumestre, Jr. and Loraine Bottger Dumestre. He is survived by his children, Grace Dumestre Holifield and husband Kyle, Hayden Dumestre and wife Michelle, and Olivia Dumestre. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Mimi Simoneaux, Margie Duncan, Missy Williams, Madelyne Peak, and their families. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, close family, friends, and his beloved “grand puppies”. Chris grew up in Baton Rouge where he graduated from Episcopal High School and then went on to attend LSU. He was an avid lover of sports both as a player on the field and as a coach to his son’s Pop Warner football league. Chris was an extremely talented and driven businessman, and was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as a rising entrepreneur during his time with Cocodrie Tannery. He later established himself as a successful real-estate broker in the Baton Rouge area. He was also a member of several organizations including Chamber of Commerce 7:30 Club, Sigma Chi Fraternity, Bacchus, and an STM parishioner. Chris was a passionate LSU tailgater and Endymion float rider. Many of those who knew Chris remember him as a devoted father, brother, uncle and friend who went above and beyond to take care of the people he loved. Chris’ extreme generosity and kind-heartedness will forever live on through us all. Peaceful rest now, sweet dreams, we’ll love you forever.
