Karen Rotolo Marchand, native and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed on August 6, 2017 at the age of 62 after a 5 month battle with cancer. Karen was preceded in death by her mother Catherine Fisher Rotolo, her aunt Bertha Theresa Rotolo, and her grandparents Vinchenzo and Maggie Rotolo.  She is survived by her 3 children Ian Marchand (Kelly), Erica Marchand (Weston Ware), Evan Marchand, and grandsons Jax Marchand and Lincoln Ware; her father Joseph Peter Rotolo, her aunt Philomene Rotola; and her brothers: Mark Rotolo (Delia), Gregg Rotolo, and Bryan Rotolo (Tanaki). Karen also had numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She graduated from Central High School in 1972. Karen worked faithfully at MMI for nearly 43 years as a supervisor and most recently as a quality assurance manager. Throughout this time, many of her coworkers became lifelong friends. As an avid LSU Tiger fan, her favorite Saturday tradition was family football time, which consisted of her favorite things: quality time with her family, cooking, and, of course, the LSU Tigers. She also loved the beach and eagerly looked forward to her annual family vacation. Above all else, Karen loved being a Mimi to her two grandsons Jax and Lincoln. Being the giver that she was, she showered her family and those she loved with unwavering support, undivided attention, encouragement, acceptance, unconditional love, and when necessary the hard truth. For as much as she loved those she surrounded herself with, she was dearly loved in return. Her beautiful smile, sense of humor, devotion, and most importantly her presence will be missed by all, especially her family. The absence felt daily is a testament to the impact she had and continues to have on those who loved her. The family would like to take the time to thank all of those who were there for Karen during this difficult time. They would especially like to express their overwhelming amount of gratitude towards Michelle Lofton for her daily contribution of support and care. Karen often called Michelle her “angel” and her kindness will never be forgotten.
