Joyce Brisbane Ulmer Seale, a native of New Orleans & resident of Baton Rouge LA, passed away November 1st, 2017 at the age of 91. Before retiring, Mrs. Seale was Executive Secretary to the late Joseph W. Sanders, Chief Justice, Louisiana Supreme Court. Displaced from her home in St. Tammany Parish after Hurricane Katrina, Mrs. Seale relocated to St. James Place in Baton Rouge where she led an active life attending classes & serving on foundation boards & committees. She was a member of P.E.O, Louisiana chapters AY & AC. Mrs. Seale treasured her family & her close friendships. She loved traveling, cultivating a beautiful garden, animals, old movies, & good food. She handled substantial life challenges with dignity & grace. She was a beautiful, elegant, engaging & delightful companion, approaching everyone with warmth, generosity & an open heart. Her ability to remember names, faces, & individual histories was legendary. She has gifted her family many loving memories as well as invaluable life-lessons for which they are truly grateful. Predeceasing Mrs. Seale were her first husband, L.G. Seale, Jr., her second husband, William L. Seale, & her son, L. George Seale, III. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Deborah Seale of Baton Rouge, her daughter, Allegra Seale & son-in-law Dr. Brian Feldman of Palo Alto CA, & her step-daughter Barbara Seale of Mandeville LA. She leaves with great regret grandchildren Farrah & Derek Benedetto of Baton Rouge, Dax & Amber Seale of Dallas TX, Kristen & Abel Strickland of Mandeville LA, Aidan Seale-Feldman & Dr. Luis Felipe Rosado Murillo of Paris, France, & six great-grandchildren, Katrina, Ashley, & Kayley Seale, Allaire & George Benedetto, & Macy Strickland. Mrs. Seale is survived by her brother, David B. Ulmer Jr., sister-in-law Ann Y. Ulmer of Atlanta GA, niece Charlotte & husband Alan Duggan of Waleska GA, her nephew, David B. Ulmer, III of Kennesaw GA, great-grand nephews David B. Ulmer IV of Canton GA & David Ulmer of Panama City Beach FL, and niece Tanya Ulmer of Alpharetta GA. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service in the Convocation Room of St. James Place, 333 Lee Drive, Baton Rouge LA on Saturday, November 18 at 2:30pm.
