A native of Chicago, IL and former longtime resident of New Orleans, Evelyn passed away at her home in Denham Springs on Monday, July 10, 2017. She was 94 and proudly served her country as a U.S. Army Air Force veteran during World War II. From 1974 until August, 2005 Evelyn was an employee of K & B and Rite Aid. Evelyn is survived by her son, Larry Douglas and wife Betsy; daughter, Gail Dauterive and husband Steve; grandchildren, Rachael Ducharme and husband Scott, Kyle Douglas and wife Gretchen, Steven Dauterive, Jr. and wife Jennifer, and Craig Dauterive and wife Christine; and great-grandchildren, Ashton Strohmeyer, Wes Douglas, and Aidan Dauterive. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Owens; and father, Charles Kubes. She very much loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and animals of all kinds. We would like to thank her caregivers, Cassie Oliver, Odessa Oliver and Marsha Jordan, for their help and support. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 9:30 am until Memorial Service at 11:30 am conducted by Deacon Michael Chiappetta.
