Effie Lucille Price Parsons passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the age of 102. She was born in Sartinville, Pike County, MS, on February 8th, 1916. Lucille resided most of her adult life in Baton Rouge, except for a few years before retirement when she and her husband, Wallace Parsons, were business owners in Marshall, Texas, and Marianna, Florida. They shared many interests in their 46 years of marriage and together they imported, raised and showed the first Australian Terriers in the south, traveled, gardened and raised pheasants for a time. Spending time with both of their close-knit extended families was always in the forefront of their lives. Lucille cherished her family and had a great and abiding love for all of them, which was the legacy her beloved mama and papa left to their children. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her and they will cherish the memories of time they spent with her and heard her laugh or felt her comforting presence. She had a good sense of humor, loved to dance, liked to fish, enjoyed cooking and made sure that everyone in her presence was well-fed. She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Virginia Parsons Grenier; son-in-law Charles Edward Grenier Jr; adored granddaughter, Cheryl Elise Grenier; loving pet, Buttercup; nieces, Emilie Donis Price Dickerson, Ruth Ann Price O’Connor, Patsy Louise Wilson Brown, Wanda Jean Price, Sara Ann Connerly Price; nephews, Jon Michael Price, Harold Wilburn Wilson, Prentiss Hayward Price Jr, Wiley Morgan Parsons, Bill Howard Parsons, David Leal Parsons, Don Wesley Parsons; sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Everett Parsons and numerous great-, great-great, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Ray Parsons; an infant daughter; parents, Prentiss Marshall Price and Cora Emily Holmes Price; sisters, Ruth Magdalene Price Wilson, Louise Mae Price, Dorothy Lee Price, Vonelle Price Case Jones; brothers, Juel Curry Price, Dwight Lyman Price, Ralph Donese Price, Donald Holmes Price, Prentiss Hayward Price Sr; nieces, Bobbye Ruth Wilson Harelson, Dorothy Louise Price O’Neal; nephews, Charles Edwin Wilson, Ralph Duvoix Price, Billy Earl Wilson, Bobby Glenn Price, Paul Ray Parsons; mother and father-in-law, John Howard Parsons and Blanche Efetha Gerald Parsons; sister-in-law, Blanche Marie Parsons Dunaway; brothers-in-law, Clyde Howard Parsons, John Wesley Parsons, Billie Maurice Parsons. Lucille’s great-nephew, Ralph C. Price, conducted the private family graveside service in Roselawn Memorial Park on Monday, March 26th. Pall bearers were her nephews and great-nephews Ralph Price, Don O’Neal, Ken Harelson, P.H. Price, David Avera and Bill Parsons. Special thanks to Fazolat and Berdikul Qushim and their children, Durdona, Kamila and Shaqhzad for the kindness, love and care they gave to “Granny.” Thanks also to Martha Tyler, Kristen McCarty, Sonya Fletcher and Cynthia Fletcher for their kind care.
