Donald “Don” Eugene Morgan passed peacefully from this life into the next on Monday, July 10, 2017. This gentle man was an elder who taught us all what real love is. He dedicated his life to loving his family and friends, especially his wife Elizabeth. He was fiercely protective, enormously generous, and ever the watchful guide. Don was incredibly intelligent, creative and spiritual. He was a talented writer, poet, songwriter, musician, and singer. A lifelong learner, he was SO FUNNY and so talented. He was always extremely intuitive, and though immensely private, he was very loved by all of his family. Such a beautiful man. He was enormously proud of ALL of his children and grandchildren and tickled that he had recently become a great grandfather. With a high school diploma he went on to work in the aerospace industry and later founded his own tech company, GoKahuna. Not only did he later teach at the college level, but he worked in administration for Baton Rouge Community College. The world has lost one of its brightest stars. He will now be ever watchful over all of us from the heavens, of which he was so fond. Don served our country in the U.S. Army and was an active Mason. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Nealy Morgan, of Baton Rouge, LA; his brother and sister-in-law Jim and Susan Morgan of St Francisville, LA; brother and sister-in-law Randy and Kathy Morgan of Livingston, LA; sister Susan Morgan of McKinney, TX; brother and sister-in-law Perry and Mary Morgan of Union Mills, NC; son Jason Morgan and grandson Carter Morgan of Ft. Wayne, IN; son and daughter-in-law Jeramy and Shellie Morgan, grandson Alex Morgan, granddaughter Victoria Morgan, and great grandson Carson Morgan of Carrollton, GA; daughter Sarah Morgan, son Matthew Morgan, and stepdaughter Leigh Sicard of Baton Rouge, LA; stepson Dr. Francis Scott Sicard and granddaughter Maya Sicard of Morgan City, LA; stepson Neal Sicard of Baton Rouge, LA; and stepdaughter Abbey Sicard and grandson Asher Sicard of Greenville, SC. Don was preceded in death by his grandson Jacques Sicard of Morgan City, LA and parents James and Maudie Morgan of Livingston, LA. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home downtown, followed by a memorial service celebrating Don’s life at 2:00 p.m. Services will be conducted by St. James Episcopal Church and will include full Masonic Rites.
