Daly “Dale” Eugene Fleniken, a native of Shreveport, LA and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the age of 74. Dale was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He graduated from Catholic High School Class of 1961 and LSU. He was a US Army veteran who served in Korea during the Vietnam War. Dale worked as a computer programmer and consultant for Elmer Chocolate in Ponchatoula, LA, retiring after more than 20 years. He was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and faithfully served in the Usher’s Society, Holy Name Society, Natural Family Planning, Knights of Columbus and Perpetual Adoration. He is preceded in death by his wife Sally Ann Senn Fleniken. He is survived by his children: Amy Gill, Kimberly O’Cain and husband Bryan, and Patrick Fleniken. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Elizabeth Gill, Don Michael Gill, Jr., Gavin O’Cain; brother, Ivan Hugh Fleniken, Jr; brothers-in-law: William “Bill” Senn, George Senn, Joseph Senn, Daniel Senn, John Senn, David Senn, and Mike Senn; and sisters-in-law: Peggy Fleniken, Mary Frances White, Carolyn Peltier, and Stella Leigh. The family would like to give a special thanks for the loving and faithful care provided by Mary White, Stella Leigh, Dr. Henry Patrick, Nurse Jenny Bower and the staff at Baton Rouge Cardiology, Williamsburg Senior Living Community, and The Carpenter House. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2250 Main Street, on Saturday at 10:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, celebrated by Rev. Miles Walsh. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations for Manresa House of Retreats, P.O. Box 89, Convent, LA 70723.
