Ann Evelyn Bourgeois Hymel entered into her Heavenly Home on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Old Jefferson Community Care Center. She was a native of St. Amant, Louisiana and a long-time resident of Baton Rouge. Born on August 3, 1931 to Bertrand & Marie Lambert Bourgeois. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst East 11000 Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge on Sunday, August 6 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church 16166 South Harrell’s Ferry Road at 10:00 am with visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017. Graveside services will be conducted at Green Oaks Cemetery on Florida Boulevard immediately following Mass. Survived by her husband of 38 years, Marion P Hymel and children Gail Bercegeay Culotta (Vince), John Wayne Bercegeay (Clarice), Gwen Bercegeay Holley (friend, Remi), Mark Roy DeBate (Ramona) and Carey Hymel (Teresa). In addition, Rosemary Simpson (Doug) and P.J. Marchand. Her siblings, Frankie Bourgeois (Eva), Tooney Melancon (Gilbert), Elaine “Tut” LeBlanc (Noah), Linda Bourgeois (Jerry) and Glenn Bourgeois (Gloria). Her grandchildren Toni Salpietra Palermo (Paul), Jeremy Salpietra, Joel Bercegeay (Jill), Kayla Bercegeay Nelson (Brian), Melissa Holley Wempren (Wesley), Daren Holley (Erin), Rowland Holley (Jennifer), Shannon Holley (Michelle), Angela DeBate Barker (Carl), Cindy Sandlin, Brittany Hymel, Michelle Hymel (Mike), Paul Hymel, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents Bertrand & Marie Lambert Bourgeois, second husband John Roy DeBate, ex-husband Alfred Bercegeay, son Steven Hymel, siblings, Etheline Bourgeois Bourque, Herman Bourgeois, Andrew Bourgeois and James Bourgeois. She was a member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church. The family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to the staff at OId Jefferson Community Care Center especially Zandra, Skye & Rose.
